The Team: Hallie Vanderhider

Managing Director

Hallie joined the SFC team in January 2016 as Managing Partner. She formerly served as Managing Partner of Catalyst Partners.  She has an extensive career in both oil and gas as well as private equity, serving both industries for two decades.  Prior to the formation of Catalyst she served for ten years as President, Chief Operating Officer and member of the board of Black Stone Minerals Company, L.P., a leading and then private oil and gas fee mineral owner, where prior to becoming President in 2007, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. During her tenure with Black Stone, the company grew from a valuation of $220 million to $4 Billion. 

Prior to Black Stone, Hallie spent ten years as Chief Financial Officer for EnCap Investments, a leading private equity firm focused on the oil and gas sector.  Before joining EnCap, Hallie, over the course of a decade held various management roles, most recently  as Chief Accounting Officer, of Damson Oil Corp., a publicly traded oil and gas firm.  Hallie began her career in public accounting with Deloitte (formerly Touche Ross & Co.).  Hallie serves on the Board and the audit committee of PetroLogistics LP in Houston and also serves on the Board for Bright Horizon Resources LLC, Mississippi Resources and Grey Rock Energy Management LLC.  She served for 7 years on the board and was past President of the Houston Producers’ Forum and is a member of, among others, the Independent Petroleum Association of America, the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Energy Subcommittee for the Greater Houston Partnership, the Steering Committee for the Executive Women’s Partnership of the Greater Houston Partnership and is a director of the Lupus Foundation of America. Hallie received a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and is a Certified Public Accountant.
